Things To Do Before Washing:

Some precautions are needed before washing volleyball shoes;
  • The first thing you need to do is to remove the laces from the shoes.
  • Second, remove the insole from the shoes.
  • Remove loose dust or dirt with a cloth.
  • Or Use a dry soft brush for removing dirt if shoes are used on mud-type floors.

How to Clean Volleyball Shoes In a Few Steps?

Cleaning Volleyball shoes manually is not a big deal, but it takes some time. Follow the given steps, and you are good to go;
  • Soft Cleaning: The first step you will take is to remove loose dirt and dust particles with a cloth, or you can remove mud-type dry dirt with a soft brush.
  • Solution: The second thing that will be done is to make a solution. Take some water a bit warm not too warm. Put the mild laundry detergent in it and mix them well.
  • Applying Solution: Now apply the solution all over the shoes or on some parts that need to be cleaned.
  • Scrubbing: Now gently scrub the shoe with a soft brush or toothbrush. Scrub the shoes again and scrub a little more on those that are too dirty and have strong stains. (Keep in mind scrubbing is done with soft hands. If you do it hard, then the mesh will tear, and the mesh can be redesigned. So be careful.)
  • Washing: You can remove the detergent with water, or you can remove it with a cloth. It’s advisable to clean detergent with water.
  • Drying: Now, after cleaning, dry them with a towel or put them in a dry place.

How do I Remove the Bad Odor from my Volleyball Shoes?

If you often wear your volleyball shoes, then you may be suffering from a bad odor. This odor is born from the sweat of the foot. Removing this smell is easy.
  • First of all, your shoes should be thoroughly dry.
  • Second, remove the laces and insole if possible.
  • Third, sprinkle a good amount of baking soda inside the shoes on all sides and in each corner. You can use a small spoon for that.
  • Separate spread baking soda on the insoles.
  • You can use essential oil for scents if you want for pleasant environment, but this step is not mandatory.
  • Sixth, leave the shoes for at least 8-12 hours, or it’s better to leave them overnight.
  • After 8-12 hours, remove the baking soda by shaking vigorously, or you can use a vacuum cleaner.

Alternate Way:

An alternate way of removing bad odor is by Shoe Deodorizer. Put the deodorizer bag in the dry shoes for 8-12 hours or overnight. After this, easily remove the bags, and you are good to go. It’s an easy way that doesn’t need much effort, and cleaning is easy as compared to the previous process.

How to Clean White Part or White Volleyball Shoes Completely?

White volleyball shoes get dirty faster as compared to other shoes. These shoes need some extra attention for cleaning.  First of all, remove laces and insole and dip them in a bit of warm water. Then, put a detergent in water and mix it. After mixing, leave them for 3-4 hours because they stain and get soft after absorbing water.  After 3-4 hours of dipping:
  • Take one of them out of the water and gently brush the whole shoe.
  • Brush again that part on which the stain and spots are strong.
  • After the previous step, if stains are not clear, then you can use the washing machine for deep cleaning, but before cleaning them in the washer, don’t forget to read the instructions.
  • After brushing, wash the shoes with water and dry them with a towel.

How to Dry the Volleyball Shoes?

Drying shoes is an important part of cleaning because if you don’t dry them, an odor may develop. Drying can be done in several steps, which are given down:
  • After washing them with water, remove the extra water with a dry towel.
  • To remove moisture, put the shoes in a dry place. If there is no dry place, you can place them in a hot room for some time.
  • The drying process can take at least 24 hours.
  • Keep in mind for drying, don’t put the shoes directly in the sunlight or fully near the heater.

Washing Volleyball Shoes In the Washing Machine:

Washing volleyball shoes in a washer or washing machine is not recommended by me, and some shoe companies also advise against it. However, if your shoes are old, you dont have time, or you have less concern about the performance and durability of volleyball shoes, you can use a washing machine. Extensively putting volleyball and other shoes in the washing machine can result in damage and tear to the mesh and sole.

Keep in mind, before cleaning shoes in a washing machine, remove the laces and insoles. Place them in a laundry bag and then put the bag in the washer. Now, add the detergent and start the machine.

Drying Volleyball Shoes In Dryer:

Drying shoes in a dryer is a convenient process, but I and some other companies do not recommend it due to its potential impact on the shape of the shoes. It is advisable to use a dryer only if your shoes are old, you are short on time, and you are not overly concerned about durability, including the condition of the sole. If you choose to dry volleyball shoes in a dryer, ensure that the dryer’s speed is set to a slow setting.

  • Clean the shoe with a little wet cloth and then apply the towel.
  • Leave them open for some time and then put deodorizer to remove some bad, sweaty smell.
  • Leave them overnight.

Next morning, your shoes will be ready to wear.

Importance of Cleaning & Maintaining Volleyball Shoes:

You should be thinking about why it is important to clean and maintain my volleyball use or why cleaning is important. A few points are given below that will help you to understand the importance of cleaning and maintenance:
  • Durability: Best volleyball shoes are roughly around or over 100 bucks, which means they need durability, and longevity depends upon you. You need always to keep your shoes clean.
  • Performance: The performance of a shoe reduces when you don’t maintain its cleanliness. During volleyball gameplay, where jumping and grip are crucial, cleaning becomes important. If you don’t clean them properly, the sole deteriorates, and performance is affected.
  • Presence: The professional appearance of volleyball shoes is enhanced when proper care is taken, ensuring thorough cleaning. The good condition of well-maintained shoes reflects the cleanliness of an individual.
  • Traction: The most crucial aspect of volleyball shoes is traction, which demands proper maintenance. Over time, dust particles can get stuck in the sole tread, reducing friction and contact with the ground. Therefore, always clean and maintain the outsole properly to ensure that your gameplay performance is not affected.
